Measurable Performance Objectives (MPOs)

Upon completion of this course, the student will:

  1. Locate, retrieve, and evaluate data from a variety of primary and secondary sources.

    1. Investigate open-ended research questions on a focused topic using strategies for critical inquiry.

    2. Locate, select, and evaluate current, relevant, authoritative, and accurate,  sources of information.

    3. Apply critical thinking to sources. 

  2. Compose and revise information-based projects for diverse audiences and purposes.

    1. Develop and support an original thesis.

    2. Apply organizational strategies to research processes.

    3. Compose research-based projects.

    4. Summarize, paraphrase, and quote sources.

    5. Demonstrate academic integrity using American Psychological Association (APA) standards.

  3. Design and deliver effective research-based presentation(s) or multimodal content for diverse audiences and purposes.

    1. Adapt research for presentation(s) or multimodal project(s) content.

    2. Use verbal and non-verbal oral presentation skills to communicate research appropriate to assigned tasks.

    3. Apply knowledge of audience and purpose.

Evaluation Criteria/Policies

The grade will be determined using the Delaware Tech grading system:

90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
0-69 = F
Students should refer to the Catalog/Student Handbook for information on the Academic Standing Policy, the Academic Integrity Policy, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and other policies relevant to their academic progress.
