Refrigeration, Heating, and Air Conditioning

This curriculum is designed to provide the student with practical and theoretical knowledge of refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning systems. These technical courses combine classroom theory with practical hands-on training. Related courses are intended to prepare students for professional and technical career opportunities. A diploma is awarded to students who successfully complete all required technical and related courses.

  1. Discuss professionalism in the workplace that satisfies job requirements including adherence to safety and environmental concerns related to the proper use and handling of refrigerants.
  2. Introduce the operation of residential and commercial HVAC/R systems and related electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  3. Introduce electrical power distribution, high and low voltage controls and the applied electrical theory as it relates to HVAC/R equipment.
  4. Introduce scientific principles as they relate to HVAC/R equipment.
  5. Discuss the safe use of tools, instruments, and equipment related to the HVAC/R industry.
