Process Operator

The Process Operator curriculum prepares students for employment in industrial plants in the chemical, petroleum, polymer, and pharmaceutical industry. The chemical industry throughout the state and within the tri-state area has an urgent need for trained operators to monitor and optimize conditions for the production of large quantities of products. Graduates are readily employed by local plants at competitive salaries. The program provides a practical, hands-on education in the various aspects of plant operations such as maintaining safety, health and environmental standards, safe startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting procedures for various types of equipment, regulatory compliance, and basic preventive maintenance. Laboratory facilities include high tech mechanical equipment, modern instrument trainers, and computer process simulators.
