Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Demonstrate mastery of a selected variety of cutting edge physiologic and technologic elements of advanced respiratory patient care.
- Compose key elements of information required to safely and effectively apply or use the modality.
- Describe appropriate patient evaluation and assessment for each element of care.
- Provide acceptable examples of correct patient communication and/or coaching.
- Using information-gathering and patient assessment data, discuss all appropriate goals.
- Based on the goals, describe appropriate assessment of procedural effectiveness.
- Using information-gathering and patient assessment data, discuss all pertinent hazards.
- Describe pertinent equipment used to implement the procedure or modality.
- Create appropriate documentation for each procedure or modality.
- Review, identify and discuss appropriate information gathering and decision-making techniques pertaining to the respiratory care credentialing process.
