Course Description
This course prepares the student to diagnose, repair, and service automotive electronic systems and components. Laboratory exercises include diagnosis, disassembly, and repair of electronic components such as computerized engine controls, electronic ignition, electronic fuel injection, and other accessories.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Demonstrate safety within the automotive shop environment.
- Demonstrate learned competencies at an introductory level.
- Demonstrate safe work ethics in all assigned tasks.
- Interpret service manuals and electronic service information.
- Obtain necessary repair information for all assigned tasks.
- Perform diagnosis following proper flow charts as necessary for all assigned tasks.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems using proper shop equipment and tools.
- Demonstrate use of hand tools and power tools necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate use of special tools and equipment to properly disassemble and reassemble all necessary components that apply to each assigned task.
- Demonstrate proper shop procedures.
- Follow shop rules for proper attire, including eye protection.
- Demonstrate punctuality in a shop lab.
- Check out, maintain, and return tools in accordance with shop procedures.
