Upon completion of this course, the student will:

    2. Explain how competition plays a role in marketing an agricultural commodity.
    3. Explain the four P's of marketing (product, place, price, and promotion) and how they affect the marketing mix.
  2. Identify how supply and demand affect the marketing environment.
    1. Define supply and demand as it relates to agriculture in the United States.
    2. Identify the causes of price fluctuations in the agriculture market.
  3. Explain how demographics and target markets are used to develop a marketing plan in an agribusiness.
    1. Discuss the importance of targeting the correct market for the specific commodity.
    2. Describe how demographics play a role in selecting the correct target market.
    3. Discuss means of acquiring information needed to select the correct target market.
  4. Explain processes used in the development of an agricultural commodity.
    1. Identify strategies for developing a new product.

    1. Explain the available channels of distribution as they relate to agricultural commodities.

90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
