Measurable Performance Objectives (MPOs)

Upon completion of this course, the student will:

  1. Apply technical skills needed in the agribusiness industry.
    1. Perform on-the-job training in an agribusiness environment.
    2. Demonstrate operation of current technology being used in the industry.
    3. Demonstrate safety practices as related to a specific agribusiness.
  2. Perform responsibilities for the current season as related to an agribusiness.
    1. Integrate pest management procedures into crop production techniques.
    2. Demonstrate production techniques related to sustainable agriculture.
    3. Demonstrate production, marketing, harvesting, and safe handling of crops.
  3. Use effective written communication skills in documentation and assignments; when appropriate, include current issues and challenges related to the profession.
    1. Prepare written assessments as assigned by the internship instructor.
    2. Produce a professional work experience portfolio to document work performed and other related responsibilities.
    3. Apply basic recordkeeping skills related to agribusiness and completion of the portfolio.
  4. Demonstrate production techniques related to sustainable agriculture.
    1. Demonstrate safety practices when working in an agribusiness.
    2. Practice Good Handling Practices and Good Agricultural Practices (GHP and GAP) as required by the Delaware Dept. of Agriculture.

Evaluation Criteria/Policies

The grade will be determined using the Delaware Tech grading system:

90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
0-69 = F
